Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest engineering disciplines. Engineers in this discipline work on powerproducing machines such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines. They also work on power-using machines such as refrigeration and airconditioning equipment, machine tools, material-handling systems, elevators and escalators, industrial production equipment, and robots used in manufacturing. Some mechanical engineers design tools that other engineers need for their work.
The program aims at providing basic knowledge in mechanical engineering along with in-depth knowledge in the design of mechanical components and production engineering. The syllabus is designed to overcome the challenges of modern day industry and its commitment to produce knowledgeable, skilled and responsible mechanical engineers.
