Digital Movement in India and Need of Cyber Security With the era of Digital India Movement, a cashless future looks worthy attractive. Digital India is a programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The focus is on being transformative to realize the better India Tomorrow (IT) by using Information Technology (IT). BUT putting the digitalization without building the required infrastructure is like assembling the cart before the horse. Cyber security leaves us vulnerable to Cyber Attacks due to lack of proper precautions and security policies. After digital movement, Security has become a heavy concern for the security experts and authorities like never before. Cyber Security is defined as a protection of network physically and digitally.
Cyber Security is process and practices designed to protect the data exchange over the internet. Ensuring it includes: Application Security, Information Security, Network Security, Disaster Recovery/ Risk Management, Operational Security and Educating End Users. The biggest challenge in achieving this, is the quickly changing nature of risks and threats. In India, a huge population is still residing in rural areas and they lack in cyber literacy and awareness, even people residing in urban areas are also not much literate about it. We are dealing with hackers and malwares over the internet and as transactions will increase threat will also increase especially when the money transactions are involved. Cyber criminals take the advantage of new technology to design attacks and threats to the Indian financial market. Security trained task force, Cyber law, Campaign of creating awareness among the End-Users and Robust Infrastructure needs to be planned crucially while evolving more in this direction.
